Galaxie 500, complete with telltale bass drum logo, is depicted in a painting by artist Barnaby Furnas.The image was used as the invitation to the 2003 Armory Show (International Fair of New Art) in New York.

While the painter seems to have worked from a live photo in the Galaxie 500 Box Set, a bit of artistic license is evident in the wildly enthusiastic crowd at the bottom of the painting. That show, at the Paradise in Boston, was actually one of the emptier ones. . . .
